One Big Trucker Party!

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree Celebrates America's Truckers

The World’s Largest Truckstop has once again hosted the biggest trucking party of its kind to honor America’s truck drivers. The 29th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree, held July 10-11 hosted tens of thousands of drivers and their families. During the two days, guests enjoyed over 175 exhibits; a Super Truck Beauty Contest with many contestants who were new to the competition; a fantastic antique truck display with over 200 vehicles; delicious Iowa pork chop cookout; Trucker’s Best Friend Pet Contest; Trucker Olympics; Carnival Games; two live bands, a fantastic fireworks display and loads of fun! This year’s Walcott Truckers Jamboree also included a ribbon cutting to open the new Iowa 80 Trucking Museum Visitor’s Center adjacent to the Iowa 80 Truckstop.

“The Jamboree is a great event for people to feel good about trucking. We appreciate everything that professional drivers do for us and for America as a whole.”, says Delia Moon Meier, Iowa 80 Truckstop Senior Vice President. “The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is the perfect chance for us to say ‘thank you’ and it also gives the general public a chance to learn about trucks and trucking. The Jamboree is an event that we hope instills pride in drivers and encourages them to celebrate the important job they do.”

Next year will mark 30 years for the Walcott Truckers Jamboree. The 30th Anniversary event is scheduled for Thursday and Friday July 9 & 10, 2009.
